Creativebug App and Apple TV

Hopefully you and your patrons are enjoying all the amazing craft projects available from Creativebug. But are you also utilizing the app?

After you are logged into Creativebug, scroll down until you see the link to explore the apps.

From here you can now download the app through the link on the site or search the App Store or Google Play on your device. Once installed you will have access to all of the classes and projects available through the website.

In addition to the apps, you can also watch Creativebug on Apple TV. Hopefully, they will make it available for other streaming devices one day!

Happy crafting!

OverDrive App to be Removed from App Stores in February 2022

OverDrive will be removing the OverDrive app from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store in February 2022 and new users will only be able to download the Libby app going forward.

What is the Libby app?

Libby is the newest app from OverDrive, inspired by library and user feedback and designed to get people reading as quickly and seamlessly as possible. If you haven’t already, we encourage all staff to download the free Libby app to become familiar with how it works. For staff looking to learn more about Libby, you can register to attend a live Getting Started with Libby training session, or view on-demand how-to videos.

What does this mean for current OverDrive app users?

When the OverDrive app is removed from app stores, users who already have it installed can continue to borrow and download content in the OverDrive app through the end of 2022. In addition, if a current OverDrive app user needs to reinstall the app, they can do so from their app store until the end of 2022. At that point in time, customers will need to migrate over to Libby.

What about our OverDrive website?

Our OverDrive collection at https://acla.overdrive.com will continue to be available as a browser-based experience.

What is our library doing to address this change?

We will be updating the eLibrary website to direct new OverDrive users to download the Libby app. We will continue to have links that direct current OverDrive app users to OverDrive Help for troubleshooting.

I have more questions.

Contact Hilary Lewis with questions, or review OverDrive’s Libby FAQs for additional information. As we learn more about this update and any other future plans, we will share those details with the staff.
