Upgraded Resource Update: Business Insights Global

Allegheny County library users now have access to Business Insights: Global.  Business Insights: Global is a purchased upgrade to the resource Business Insights: Essentials which was the upgrade to Business and Company Resource Center….confusing huh?

Here’s an explanation: Business Insights: Essentials contains all the content from Business and Company Resource Center, with a modern interface and added functionality. Our library system has Business Insights: Global, which
has all the content of Business Insights: Essentials with added company information from around the world, not just the United States.

If you library individually links to this resource you should update your URL to this: http://www.einetwork.net/ein/galegroup.cfm?db=BIG

Your library should also be receiving some bookmarks to inform patrons about this upgraded resource.

Below are some informational and educational videos that Gale has provided to help introduce you to the basics of using Business Insights: Essentials:

Zinio

A tip for librarians and customers using Zinio:

Since signing up for Zinio after Christmas I have been devouring magazines! However, I had been waiting and waiting for email notifications letting me know that new issues were ready for me.  These notifications never came.  If this happens to you, just log in to Zinio through the Library’s website and select the new issues that you want to read.  After this, the new issues will be pushed to your app (if you’re reading on a reader or mobile device).

NoveList — Book Discussion Guides

I find this invaluable with hundreds of titles from A to Z, or
from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian to
Zorro. You also have the option of limiting titles to
adult or teen. To get to the Book Discussion Guides simply put
the cursor over the MORE tab near the top
of the NoveList homepage and click on Book Discussion Guides
.

eReference Goldmine

Do any of you own the History of World Trade since 1450? How about Terrorism: Essential Primary Sources? Gale Encyclopedia of Genetic Disorders?   In fact, we all own these, and about 1350 more excellent reference titles because they are included in our online electronic resources. From the well-known, such as The Encyclopedia of World Biography to the more obscure, such as Beacham’s Guide to Endangered Species, we are sitting on a goldmine of excellent information. Here’s a handy spreadsheet of many of the titles and the databases to which they belong.
